Found here is the La Mata y Torrevieja Lagoon nature park, a unique area in which the age-old tradition of salt mining has now successfully been combined with concerns for conservation of local marshlands and nesting sites for MIGRATORY birds, all in a highly attractive enclave. The coast along Torrevieja, with its seafront promenade, clean beaches, and modern yacht club with a full range of services and tourist installations, offers one of the most attractive destinations along the southern coast of the Land of Valencia. The Costa Blanca coastline is packed with tourist attractions. The list of places to visit and things to do is seemingly endless. One example is Alicante, an historical town offering numerous attractions including the spectacular Santa Barbara castle and the Explanada prominade.
Inland you can find breathtaking mountains, peaceful lakes and lush valleys. Take time to visit some of the country villages and sample 'the real Spain'.

Choose between quiet beaches at Guardamar, and busier beaches at Torrevieja. The one by the apartment is very quiet; 5 minutes by car takes you to a busier beach, Los Naufragos, which is a long sandy stretch, with restaurants and a small harbour, very popular with the Spanish. Costa Blanca has some of the cleanest, safest beaches in Europe. Of the beaches along the coastline, 45 have been awarded EU “Blue Flags” for their excellent standards of safety and cleanliness.
