Casa dos Arcos faces south at the edge of a truly unspoilt village in the heart of the Algarve's only conservation area. The old 'big house' of the village is now faithfully restored. For larger parties, Villa dos Arcos ( sleeping 6) and Casita do Pintor ( sleeping 4) are adjacent, and the houses may be rented in any combination . (For details see Property No.1392).

| The Casa has attractive mature gardens and a private swimming pool, offering a number of pleasant alternatives for tranquil relaxation and eating outside. It stands at the edge of the village with the terrace commanding dramatic views over the quaint rooftops to the coastal cliffs and valleys dotted with white windmills and eucalyptus forests. A herd of goats occasionally grazes outside and medieval methods of farming are still sometimes used. |

The majority of visitors are repeat bookings from people who have been before and have been enchanted by the unique combination of a comfortable, well equipped house, with modern facilities, in a completely unspoilt village. Your neighbours are not other holidaymakers, but simple Portuguese village folk, some of the widows still wearing the traditional black shawl and large hat.
This is not the place for you if you want night life or entertainment. It offers tranquility, stunningly beautiful scenery and a rare chance to be part of the life of a genuine (300 year old) Portuguese village with an interesting history.
