The Languedoc is renowned for its beautiful, unspoilt and varied countryside, its old Cather and Roman history as well as Romanesque architecture. It is still possible to drive for miles without seeing a house. During the hot summer months, the miles of vineyards also allow for a green countryside.
The Languedoc is the largest wine growing area in Europe and the wines are natural where additives are not allowed to spoil their flavour. Restaurant food is excellent and very reasonable and for those who enjoy cooking, the market offers an abundance of fresh fish and food, a lot of which is grown locally.
