From 'Le Pigeonnier',there are many different excursions that can be undertaken. In nearby Orgnac l'Aven, for example, there are magnificient underground caves to be explored. It is also only a short drive to the 'Route des Vins', which winds it's way along the most famous vineyards of the Rhone Valley, to the town of Chateauneuf du Pape. Within a short distance lie the historical towns of Orange, Nimes and Avignon, with it's Palace of the Popes or Aix-en-Provence with it's famous fountains. Another item of historical interest nearby is impressive three-tiered roman acquaduct at Pont du Gard.

The climate of the Ardèche region makes it an ideal spot for out-of-season vacationing too! The numerous cultural, gastronomic and natural attractions of the area make it interesting for one and all. Sports lovers can enjoy beautiful bike tracks, canoeing – the Gorges of the Ardèche are world famous – climbing, riding, trekking, you name it, it’s there! The daytrips that one can take from the Hamlet to the surrounding “sights to be seen” are almost too numerous to list, beginning with the famous trip through the Gorges to the lesser known, but magnificent route through the Vallée de la Cèze and visit the Cascades du Sautadet. Then again, the wilderness of the Plateau des Cévennes is well worth a visit since it there that the Loire has it's spring.
