The castle of Hortes is situated in the crossroads of motorways A 9 (exit 34) at 1 km and A 75 (exit Agde) at 10 km. Situated between the yacht marina of Cap d'Agde and the historical “Molière's town” Pézenas, nearby the fishing port MARSEILLAN along the Etang de Thau, salt marshes famous for their oysters and mussels. BEZIERS and the 'canal du midi' and is excellent roses and white wine. A few minutes drive (10 km) brings you to the Mediterranean beaches (Agde, Vias, Marseillan ...). The famous town of Carcassonne, Montpellier, Perpignan are within an hour. Collioure and the Spanish sun border are an hour an a half, Barcelona is 3 hours.
A 10 minutes walk brings you to the village of Bessan with its shops, bars and restaurants and also its famous sunday market.
The chateau also sits at the center of the largest wine region in europe with excellent wines.
